Research Computing Power Now Available for COVID-19 Related Projects
Iowa State University has acquired research computing equipment dedicated to supporting COVID-19 related research. This cluster is paid for in part by a grant received from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Faculty, staff and students conducting research related to COVID-19 can access this research computing equipment by submitting a request to the high-performance computing (HPC) unit of the Information Technology Services department.
The equipment consists of:
- Twelve 48 CPU / 384G memory compute servers on the Nova computing cluster
- 250 TB of total storage
Following the submission of the request, it will be thoroughly reviewed by the HPC committee. Researchers are encouraged to provide project details in their request to expedite the approval process and reduce the need for clarification requests from the committee.
No additional cost will be incurred by researchers accessing this cluster unless additional storage beyond the 10 TB limit is required.
