An Exercise

Maize zinc concentration data

The meaning of this data is not known but it is suitable for fitting a range of simple models.

As an exercise in using ASReml,
  • copy the data into an ascii file (say zinc.dat)
  • run ASReml on the data file to produce a template zinc.as file
  • edit the template to run the job described in Getting started
  • view the various output files (especially .asr. .res, .sln, .yht),
  • Extend the job using !PATH statements fit:
        one way analysis of variance
        regression with random sources
        bivariate one way analysis of variance
